Family Reunion!!

Tim and I braved the another long road trip with both boys! Florida to Missouri with a stop overnight each way. It was the first time the boys had met most of Tim's extended family and it was great for them to get see exactly how many cousins... and second cousins or whatever the children of your cousins are called. The boys loved all the attention and Carter made sure to have everyone hold him! We had a lot of fun and only wish these events weren't so few and far between!!

WooBamboo Kid's Eco Toothbrush Review

Disclosure: I received this product in order to facilitate my review.

Anytime I can get a product that's made of a material other than plastic I usually go for it. Cloth diapers, useable stainless steel water bottles, and more. After seeing the WooBamboo toothbrushes for children (they have adult versions too) I was excited to give them a try. It was perfect timing as both boys just went to the dentist and I switched out their toothbrushes after the appointment.

Toothbrushes are something you probably don't think much about but billions of them clog the landfills every year. The handle of the WooBamboo toothbrush is biodegradable. The bamboo they are made out of it sustainably grown so it's not stripping the world of precious resources. The bristle are BPA free and the whole thing is packages with recyclable materials. It's a green moms dream come true!! You can find these green little brushes on their website or even on Amazon!

So far the kids have used the brushes with no complaints from anyone. They are sturdy enough to be actually removing debris and soft enough that they don't hurt their gums. If you want to make a small change in the world, start with the simple everyday items you purchase for your family!!

Konjac Facial Sponge Review

Disclosure: I received this product in order to facilitate my review.

In the past, I've used natural sponges or just washcloths for make removal so I was excited to try the Konjac Facial Sponge w/ Bamboo Charcoal. I wasn't really sure what to expect so I checked out Amazon to find out a little more. This is a natural growing part of an exotic plant that can be converted into sponges. They add activated carbon in the form of bamboo charcoal that is supposed to help absorb oils and such from your skin as it's used. The sponge is biodegradable and can be simply composted when done. It comes threaded and with a suction cup so it can be easily hung which prevents anything nasty from going on between uses.

Sometime the softness of the sponge feels like it's not enough for exfoliation so i have used it along with my normal products. This seems to be the best way to get deep cleaning.

You can see I have mine hanging in the shower for daily use! At first it took a few minutes to soften up the sponge then it remains pliable between days. I love the ability to exfoliate daily even without extra chemical or products. My skin feels soft and refreshed after use! If you're looking for a sponge that's green, long lasting (replace every 2-3mo), and practical this one is great!

Ozeri Green Earth Textured Ceramic Pan

Disclosure: I received this product as part of an advertorial.

Eight years ago when we welcomed an African grey parrot to our household I threw away all of our non stuck Teflon coated pans. Why you ask? When over heated they can release toxic fumes into the air and being even more sensitive than us to such fumes it can be deadly. It's not healthy for Ilya but the possibility of killing my bird finally pushed me to action.

Since then I've used a cast iron huge skillet and regular pans. I have to admit it's a pain when trying to cook delicate items and things I don't want cooked in oil. Enter the new healthy ceramic coated non stuck pans. I've been using my Ozeri green pan for a few weeks now and love it. Not only is the coating safe it's also effective and fully non stick.

I also love the cool scheme and bright and trendiness of this pan. It comes complete with a liner to prevent it from getting scratched when stacked in a cupboard.
I've has even heating on everything from pasta sauce and stir frys to eggs. If you're looking for a healthy non stuck option check out Ozeri!!

Publisher Plus for the Mac

Disclosure: I received this product as part of an advertorial.

While Apple products are awesome, just ask my hubby, they do require you pay attention to what software you are trying to install. In the past I've reviewd a few PearlMountain Technology programs and been excited by them. My latest trial was for their Publisher Plus.

Publisher Plus is a page layout program for desktop publishing on the Mac. With it you can create reports, posters, advertisements, brochures, and more. I'm currently putting it to use hopefully make a fun brochure for my moms group that members of our organizers team could have on hand to pass out.

The first thing I noticed when starting to play around in the program is the number of templates it has. I love a great template when I'm just getting started!! In addition, there were plenty of already available clip arts pieces and things like frames and backgrounds for your designs. It was easy to maneuver and didn't require you to spend lots of time reading how to documents.

I have to admit I'm not a graphic designer or very good at such things but I love the possibilities with this software! I see myself making lots of fun birthday party decor in the future.

Here was a fast try at a flyer for First Coast Fluff

For further information, PearlMountain has a great demo video.

Check it out on the Mac App. store!

Nordic Naturals

Disclosure: I received this product in order to facilitate a review.

I first looked into DHA/Omega 3's/Fish oil when we first moved to FL years ago. Our two Indiana dogs didn't adjust so well to the climate and needed something to help their skin. We don't usually buy animal only products that cost 10-times more so I looked for quality human supplements for our pets.

Since then, I've searched for a great supplement both for us adults in the family to help with healthy hearts and for the kiddos! I've sort of bounced around between brands while checking out what the Native Sun and Whole Foods aisles have.

I jumped at the chance to try a sampling of Nordic Naturals and have been surprised at the variety. I received a full size bottle of baby DHA liquid, a bottle of prenatal DHA and a huge assortment of samples of their other various products. I was pleased to see they have a high quality pet soft gel too! For the littler ones who won't take a pill or swallow something that tastes fishy, they even make funny gummies. For adults who don't enjoy pill swallowing, they even have Omega Boost that's a pudding like consistency and tropical mango flavored. Whatever has kept you from repeatedly taking your Omega 3's Nordic Naturals have a solution.

To ensure their safety, Nordic Naturals uses third party testing to ensure the highest quality. Their purity surpasses the international pharmaceutical standards and testing results are even available online so you can verify what you're using yourself! I especially love that many of their products are made in a facility certified to be free of the common allergens. They're gluten free and contain no artificial dyes.
